Niche Marketing - Finding An Expert Mentor

So, you are all set to go. You have decided that you've got this great cure for acne and you want to start putting it together and marketing it right away. But you haven't got a clue where to begin and don't know anybody personally who can help you. You are what we call lost in the black hole of Internet marketing. What on Earth do you do? Well, the best thing to do is to try to find what we call an expert mentor, or somebody to give you guidance. This is easier said than done unfortunately, as most experts in their chosen field are too busy to be helping people, at least without a hefty price tag. This is where you may have to bite the bullet and dig into your wallet a little bit. In the long run, this will be the best thing you could do for your business.

One of the best and easiest ways to find an expert mentor is simply to do a search under the area you want to get involved in. Find your competition, or at least people who are closely associated with the field you want to get into. Then, when you find their site, see if they have an affiliate program. Write to them and see if they are open to taking on a new project as a joint venture. This is where you really have to sell your idea or they will simply dismiss you. Make them see that YOUR new product is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. If you are a good enough sales person, they will guide you through the process of creating your product and maybe even set up your sales page for you. This will not come without a cost, both up front and later on. For one thing, the sales page will probably cost you unless you do it yourself. Then, they're going to want a portion of the profits for each unit sold. The upside to this is that they will probably have a large customer base already established to sell to. You'll most likely be in profit rather soon. Plus, the experience you will get in having somebody this experienced help you through this process will be invaluable to you should you want to venture into another niche down the road. The second time will be a lot easier and most likely you'll be able to handle it on your own.

If however, you don't want to share the wealth with your new product, you can hang up at the online forums. Here you will find a number of people who inhabit them who are a wealth of information. Most forums allow you to ask all the questions you like, as long as you don't place ads. The downside of this is that it will take longer to get things done. You'll most likely only get your information in bits and pieces and not all that fast. A person you may bump into may not frequent the forums regularly. It could be days apart in getting your info. The upside is that this will probably not cost you anything at all. As long as what you're doing doesn't compete with what your mentor is doing, not likely since you are specializing in one niche, this person is more than likely to give you all the help you need.

You're going to want to do something in return for the people who help you. Maybe give them free copies of your product when it's completed. It's always a good idea to show your appreciation to somebody when they help you out. What goes around comes around.
