How to Get the Advantage of Maximum Height with Tall Bar Stools

Tall bar stools are increasingly starting to gain popularity. The need for these taller seats is required for certain areas designed especially for them. Higher counters in new homes and tables in commercial businesses are the culprit for this new trend. There are also some instances when you may need to buy extra tall bar stools for places that would normally hold standard size stools. Lets look at a few reasons why this might occur.

Barstools are sold by the measurement of the seat height (distance from the floor to the seat) and not to the top of the seatback. It then becomes very important for you to measure the sizes correctly. Industry standard in terms of seat height is around 30 inches. Many pub tables, raised counter overhangs, breakfast nooks and standard bars will range in height from 40 to 43 inches. This is perfect height for these stools.

The traditional guidelines say that you should allow somewhere form 8 to 12 inches of space from the top of the seat to underside of the table or counter. This will allow room for people of all different sizes big or small to sit comfortably on these stools. However, if your counters or tables are higher than standard (which many are) its makes it hard to reach your food and beverages. And we definitely cant have that. Thats exactly why there are tall bar stools on the market!

In a lot of the homes and some businesses out there today are built in the range of 45 to 48 inches high. These heights make for to much distance from the standard 30 inch size stools. Most of us would be like that little kid in the Kraft commercial who can barely see on top of the table let alone eat properly. Our food would be at our faces. This problem is easily solved with the use of extra tall bar stools that have a typical height anywhere between 34 and 39 inches. They fit perfectly while the person sits a little higher on their pedestal.

Finally the taller people in this world need to be accommodated also. For any person who is 6 foot 3 or taller the standard height stools (30 inch) can be somewhat uncomfortable and bad for their posture. The foot rails end up being too high up stool and they sometimes feel cramped or hunched over. This is where the tall bar stools come into to play. They will allow the people sit more comfortably with their feet on the foot rail.

As you can see there are a number of good reasons for you to use extra tall barstools in your home or at your business. The most important thing to remember is there are no rules in terms of height; you just have to go with what is comfortable in your particular situation. Get the advantage of tall bar stools today.
