Why You Should Combat Obesity and Lose Weight Today - 2 Tips To Weight Loss Success

Obesity is among one of the most serious problems in the world today. If you consider the hectic life most of us have to go through, many people don't pay much attention to their health and eat anything that can fill their stomach to alleviate their hunger. Also they don't perform any physical activity. As a result, obesity has increased mostly in many developed countries. Obesity is not good and has been associated with many health problems. Here are some:

(a) Diabetes
(b) High blood pressure
(c) Hypertension
(d) Haemorrhoids
(e) Heart diseases
(f) Heart attacks
(g) Irritable bowel syndrome
(h) Prostate cancer
(i) Colon cancer
(j) Breast cancer

Even though some people are aware of the health hazards of obesity, they are oblivious to it. People are busy and don't have much time, even to prepare a meal which lays emphasis on the vital elements of healthy nutrition and excluding fats as far as possible. Being on a diet and paying attention to what you eat plus doing physical activities are two of the most important factors to contributing to a decrease in obesity. To become less obese, you need to burn fat, calories, be careful to what you eat and lose weight as a result. Here are 2 tips to weight loss success:

(1) Change your eating habits

Don't eat whatever you crave. Even if you do, do it moderately from time to time. On the other hand, opt for foods that have high nutritional value but low in fats and sugars as far as possible. Skinless chicken or turkey breasts, tuna in brine instead of oil which contain fats, egg whites, oatmeals are some of the types of food that you can incorporate in your daily meals either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Oily fish like tuna have omega-3 fatty acids which can lower the risk of heart diseases.

In addition, don't forget to eat lots of vegetables, fruits and drink at least 1.5 litres of water on a daily basis. Vegetables like tomatoes have been proven to be effective against cancer because the lycopene found in tomatoes have powerful antioxidant properties which can prevent cancerous cells from developing or destroy existing ones. Fruits like banana, papaya are really effective against constipation which can lead to problems like haemorrhoids, bowel irritations and colon cancer.

(2) Be more active and engage in physical activities

Get off the couch or your computer chair and start doing some physical activities. Sweating is good for you because not only it releases toxins from your body but the more your sweat, the less obese you'll become. But don't think that just sitting in the sauna and sweating will make you become less obese and lose weight. You'll be rather losing water and not real sweating to burn fat and calories. Remember no pain no gain.

Rather, try to do some jogging 3 times per week, do some aerobics and use cardio machines like exercise bikes, treadmills and steppers at the gym. Even you don't go to the gym, there are several ways you can exercise at home. You can do some basic exercises like push ups, sit ups, squats which will make you sweat. If you find most of these activities too strenuous, get in the habit of walking long distances with effort. Walking is a good exercise which can make you really sweat if you do it effortfully rather than leisurely. Also, consider walking instead of taking the car if you're not too far away from your destination. This is an additional exercise. With time, you'll be surprised how you'll become less obese with such a simple activity.

Becoming less obese and losing weight is without any doubt achievable with will and determination to succeed in your weight loss goals. So start taking action today, lead a healthy life and reduce the risk of health problems considerably. You'll be glad you did.
