Writing Reverses the Normal Selection Process

Normally, when men and women meet, they meet in person first. What this generally means to a man is that his primary decision about whether to pursue a woman is based at first on his physical attraction to her and secondly to the strength of their interaction.

Men are visually oriented, and their interest in a woman, on a personal level, is immediately affected by their physical attraction for her. Secondly a woman can have a positive affect on a man by making a positive impression on him.

Men might say a woman has a 'good personality.' Generally this means that she has charmed him, usually by flattering his ego, by laughing at his jokes and listening intently at what he is saying. She may follow this up by touching him gently on the forearm or shoulder.

Alas, men, we are not complicated creatures. Every one wants to be appreciated for who they areboth men and women.

Writing to a woman before you actually meet her in person somewhat reverses this normal process. You get to know her personally before her physical charms bedazzle you.

You are able to make somewhat logical decisions about her based on the content of her letters, rather than be immediately overwhelmed by the power of your hormones.
