May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (I Thesalonians 5:23, NIV) And because Christ is truly a man, he has these too. Christ has body.52Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus body. 53Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen cloth and placed it in a tomb cut in the rock, one in which no one had yet been laid. This is because there are people, especially those who are Catholics believe that the spirit surrendered by Christ to the Father is the so-called-by-catholic SOUL. Soul is different from Spirit and Spirit is not the Soul
Why did Christ surrendered his spirit to the Father? The answer is, because Christ is truly man. Man when dies, the spirit will return to God, because it is God who gave it.7 Then the dust will return to the earth as it was,
And the spirit will return to God who gave it. (Ecclesiastes 12:7, ibid) |
