Cookbook Fundraisers

Fundraising is a method used by non-profit organizations to solicit funds from an individual, business, or charitable foundations to support operations. Fundraising may raise money for a new church building, an evangelistic meeting, an outreach project to help the less fortunate, or to organize summer camps for the youth. Your church may also want to help victims of natural disasters.

Whatever the cause you aim to support, you must decide how you will go about attaining the money. There are various methods you can use to raise the target amount. Some organizations employ the services of fundraising professionals to help raise funds in return for non-monetary compensation, but churches may not be able to afford any sort of compensation for these professionals. So it might be best to try to think of more creative fundraising ideas. Common methods used are selling old books and magazines, baked goods, and candles.

A good option for churches is cookbook fundraising. Church members can contribute special family recipes or recipes they have prepared and found to be especially tasty. Or they could be recipes that they have altered to suit their own tastes.

In addition, the church could sell tickets to a luncheon where participants could have a taste of each of the recipes found in the cookbook, everything from appetizers, to soups, main dishes, and even desserts.

In addition to bringing in money from the luncheon ticket sales, such a luncheon can help promote cookbook sales. In fact, those attending the luncheon will probably find all the food to be so delicious and prepared with so much love that they will be eager to take the cookbook home and prepare delicious meals for their own families.
